Crispy Crusty Bread Tip!!

For most of us, the desire for a crispy crust bread is incredible.  For those of us in the professional culinary world, we know that the secret is in the temperature and the humidity level of your oven.  I have found in home applications that a 450 degree oven is ideal.  If you have an electric oven or gas oven with jets on the bottom do not do the next step.. take 2 cups of water when you are placing your bread in the oven and toss the water into the bottom of the oven to create intense steam and close the door rapidly.   If you have an oven with a bottom element the best thing to do would be to have a large  pan like a cake pan or similar. Pre- heat that with the oven and have it placed below where the bread will be placed, and add water to that pan.
The steam is what will form the crust.  Internal temperature of the bread should be somewhere between 190 and 210 for a nice moist inside.  Remove when golden brown!   Bread is Life!!
